“New Extension Boots Footfall for Darlings of Chelsea”. Darlings of Chelsea says that the extension it recently made to its Fulham Showroom has been a “great success”, helping to increase both footfall and sales in the last three months. In June, the four-store independent retailer bought a vacant unit next to its Fulham store and extended the showroom, allowing the company to introduce British-made and contemporary ranges previously only available through the website. Director, John Darling, said: “Our website shows where customers can see each of our products so a lot more customers have been directed to the store, to see the furniture which has helped us increase footfalls and sales. We have also been able to improve our window display as we have doubled the space available. At the moment we have a white corner sofa in the window, and so we are bringing in a lot more passing trade” Mr Darling said the retailer was looking forward to the Christmas period, and was transforming an area of the Fulham showroom in to a home cinema, to promote a new reclining corner unit. “We are expecting our home cinema to sell really well over Christmas” he added.
