The Sussex Autistic Community Trust was searching for a specific range of furniture for its
social enterprise project, Café des Arts, in Robertson Street, Hastings.
The Director, Jean Rose was clear that any furniture within the café was to be high-end, unique
to the cafe and a draw for our customers.
Jean specifically chose a range of highback and lowback armchairs and two seater sofas, along

Companies only ever put the good comments on their websites don't they. That's not much help when you're wondering whether to part with hard-earned cash for a big purchase like a sofa. But I've just taken delivery of my new Morellia corner sofa from Darlings of Chelsea and am totally delighted with its quality and its comfort (I bought it without having ever sat on it...so that's a big relief!)
It easily swallows up our whole family and no-one wants to get up once they've sat down on its generous, luxurious cushions. The shop were great - answering all my questions and sending me tons of fabric samples. I went for the Zoo II fabric in a modern grey weave called 'Guinea Fowl'...perfect.
The delivery guys were great too. They assembled the new sofa and took away all the wrapping - all in about 5 minutes. Darlings also gave me the spare fabric - so I can have more cushions made or even a small footstool.

Following a three year search for a sofa that my partner and I could agree on, we embarked on a trip to the furniture show at Earls Court earlier this year. We came across Darlings of Chelsea and found their range superb and for once found ourselves spoilt for choice. We found the staff helpful, professional and extremely knowledgeable on their products. Initially we were somewhat dubious about their promise of a delivery time of five to seven weeks as we had heard several horror stories from friends about having to wait up to six months, in the worst case, until they received their furniture from other companies. True to their word, the sofas were delivered in five weeks and the whole process was painless from beginning to end. We are incredibly happy with our new sofas and the quality is second to none especially considering the very reasonable purchase price. I've sent the sample back to the factory so they've got it to work from and a covering letter explaining it. They've also mentioned they wont put the stitching in the seat cover too which is great. I will with pleasure confirm that since my initial Internet enquiry and your follow up, I can honestly say I was delighted at the professional you and Darling's handled my order. You knew all the answers to all my enquiries, you organised a colour sample to be sent to me, the goods arrived well before your accepted ETA and the end result is I am really satisfied with the sofa bed chosen.
The fact that you followed things through right up to know , a week or so after I have received the goods is very nice to see and very unusual in this day and age.

David Lane, West Midlands I thought I'd drop you a line to say how happy we are with the statton chair and sofa bed.The bed opens and closes beautifully, the colour is gorgeous too.
The only slight reservations we had were the delivery men turning up unexpected on the 29th sept, we weren't given a warning that they were coming, they told us that they didn't know our contact number and took a chance on turning up,which unfortunately we couldn't except the suite because we haven't cleared any space ready for them.
So they came back on the 4th.
Only two men turned up when there should have been three,to start with, we very nearly didn't have the sofa bed due to the awkwardness of getting it up the stairs, but with sheer guts and determination the guys got it up there in the end. I'm just glad everything was ok with the suite on removing the wrappings otherwise I would dread to think how to get it back down the stairs again.
All I would say is Stallard that delivered the suite did a wonderful job of getting the furniture to us, the problem was lack of communication further back with whatever company Stallard took the suite from. Luckily no harm was done, but I feel you should be aware of this so as to hopefully not have this problem with other customers.
I have noticed a sample of leather under the chair. When the seats wear down in years to come do I cut it off and send it to you with the code? Just something I'm wondering about.

Many thanks for the two Statton sofabeds that we ordered. We are most impressed with the comfort and quality. They are obviously very well built, the leather is very thick and has been complimented upon by a good friend who used to work in the leather trimming department for a very upmarket car company. To look at them, and to sit on them you would never know that they double up as good guest beds.
Although their sofabed ability will not be used often it is of considerable comfort to us to know that the mechanisms are substantial and the matresses are suitably thick. I am sure that they will provide a good nights sleep to those who do sleep on them. Timely delivery and friendly service too. All in all a very good product and service.
