Bathe in Beauty – Style for Your Bathroom

By Darlings Of Chelsea

It’s often one of the smallest rooms in the house. And it can be tempting to think of it purely in practical terms. But the bathroom is one place we spend a lot of time, and there are so many great ways to make more of the space, it’s a shame not to give it more attention. So here are a few ways to make your bathroom a bit more beautiful.

Natural Beauty

Natural materials such as wood and stone have seen a resurgence in recent times, and are particularly favoured in the bathroom at the moment. Another trend that’s increasing in popularity is the significant presence of plant life, such as large, decorative plants and full-on ‘living walls’. Or if you want to go one step further, you could consider an outdoor shower! Perhaps not the most workable idea given the British weather, but it’s an option…

Contemporary Bathroom Features

Modern and innovative approaches to lighting or wall designs that have become popular in other areas of the home have now made their way into bathrooms. Bold colours and prints have also started to feature, giving bathrooms a more contemporary look that continues the overall style of a home in this space. Perhaps try some Ebb and Flow Rowan or Pendant LampsĀ for your bathroom lights to give the space a fresh look and feel.

Bigger Walk In Showers

Baths aren’t the only place for luxuriating now, walk-in showers are more popular, becoming bigger and more decadent. Whether you simply want a bit more space to belt out a few off-key tunes in the morning or are looking for something ultra-opulent like a rainfall showerhead.

Coastal Style

This look is a classic for a reason. Water being the obvious link between the two spaces and blue being an often-used colour, this popular theme can get a bit tired and uninspired, but if you think more modern beach spa you can give it a subtle, sleek feel that will look modern and luxurious.

Tech Central

Having started in the living and home office, then moved into the kitchen, Big Tech has now infiltrated the bathroom too. Big, flatscreen TVs are now featured on bathroom walls, along with clever sound and lighting systems, so you can lie back in the bath, watching your favourite show or listen to your favourite shower songs as they were intended to sound.
