Design Trends - Summer 2016

Top design trends you can get involved with in 2016

Explore the latest Summer interior design trends for 2016 that we are going gaga about!

Brass and Gold

Tipped by big names in the design industry to be the biggest design trend this year. Metallic's are still here to stay, however we are seeing a shift to Gold and Brass in the form of coffee tables, pendant lights and accessories.

Exotic Prints and Colours

These upcoming design trends are full of life, taking influences from Brazil and Asia with oriental prints and bold exotic colors of oranges and greens. Use it a little by adding pops of colour and oriental prints in throws and cushions or go all way by coloring walls and using heavy, dark furniture with silk screens and lanterns. To add a touch of colour print to your home check out our Pizarro Fuchsia Cushion and Origins Multi Rug.

Artisanal – Natural fibres

Rattan is back! Following on from the 70's vibe we are seeing at the moment the rattan chair is great for indoors and outdoors this summer. This eco-friendly material is expected to start featuring across the board into lighting and accessories. Its not just rattan that's caught our attention, we are seeing a definite move away from the 'disposable culture',  there is a growing appreciation for artisan, hand made, natural products, up-cycling and organic shapes. To get your hands on this latest look shop our Darlings Natural Rattan Chair.

 Monochrome B&W

Taking cues from the latest fashion runway shows by the likes of Victoria Beckham and Dior, the monochrome look has found its way into the interiors scene. Always a go-to look with its classic elegance, this trend is easy to achieve on a large or small scale. Our Glove Content chair by Terence Conran is an ultra modern sleek way to get the classic black and white look in your home.

Pink is the New Grey

Forget 50 Shades of Grey - Pink is tipped to be the new neutral. Interiors expert Charlotte Duckworth says soft, dusty pinks are provide that perfect warmth and work great as a backdrop to artwork, furniture and accessories. Pair it with light woods and copper accents for a contemporary, sophisticated look. To get this look in your home have a look at our Olivia Sofa in Extra Soft Brushed Cotton Blossom 76.
